From 821 submissions, the largest number ever submitted, one novel was selected as the 12th Grand Prize winner of the “Women’s R-18 Literary Award” （est. 2002） sponsored by Shinchosha Publishing Co., Ltd. for this film adaptation. Set in Kyoto, this romantic film follows the relationships between one man and three women spanning over 8 years. The depiction of each woman’s lives reflects the various issues that women currently face in present-day Japan. In the director’s chair for her directorial debut is Kiki Sugino.
