The KIFF Red Carpet Leads Stars to the Beautiful Gion Kobu Kaburenjo

Stars of film and art strode through Gion on the afternoon of October 15, entering the spectacular old theater of Gion Kobu Kaburenjo via a red carpet, for the 2015 Kyoto International Film Festival.
154 guests walked the carpet, greeted by ten geisha at the theater entrance dressed in colorful kimonos. The 37 groups represented movies, exhibitions and organizers of the festival, including actress Kaori Momoi, chairperson Sadao Nakajima, famed scriptwriter Teruyo Nogami, rock-star and actor Yuya Uchida, film producer Yoko Narahashi, director Kaizo Hayashi and actor Tatsuya Nakadai.
800 people gathered in the hall ready for the opening ceremony that followed, in anticipation of KIFF 2015, set to feature 65 works. In addition 41 art works form part of this year’s event, with a further 139 works in the children’s section.
