Shizuku no Utsuwa Trophy

The winners of the SHozo Makino Award,the Toshiro Mifune Award were awarded with the“Shizuku no Utsuwa”trophy.This Kyoto international Film Art Festival trophy was created by potter and art writer,Mr.Takahiro Kondo,using his original technique“gintekisa(i silver mist glaze)”(patented).

Born 1958 in Kyoto, Kondo is the third generation of renowned ceramicists, whose grandfather Kondo Yuzo, was named Living National Treasure for underglaze cobalt-blue wares. After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art, Kondo won the scholarship from Agency for Cultural Affairs Overseas Study Program for Artist, Inglis Allen Masters Award, and Kyoto City New Artist Award. Combining porcelain and glass with precious metals, Kondo has produced many art works, which were honored at various exhibitions and art fairs. His solo exhibition includes The Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh, UK, Barry Friedman Ltd, New York, and "Metamorphose", Paramita Museum, Mie, Japan, and group exhibition includes Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, U.S.A., The Beijing Palace Museums, China. His works are included as permanent exhibition at Scottland National Museum, Boston Museum, Metropolitan Museum, and Minneapolis Museum.
